Amitabh Bachchan extends warm wishes to Mohanlal as his directorial debut Barroz goes on the floor

Mohanlal enthralled the audience with his latest release Drishyam 2. The Malayalam megastar is now all set to don the director’s hat for the first time in his career. Yes, Mohanlal is all set to make his directorial debut with Barroz. The children fantasy film went on the floors today and the veteran actor’s fans are all the more excited to watch him in the director’s seat.

As Barroz went on floors today, Amitabh Bachchan extended his warm wishes to Mohanlal for his directorial debut. Big B took to his Twitter handle and made sure to wish Mohanlal as he embarks on a new journey today.

Wishing Mohanlal, the Piku actor wrote, “T 3851 -Wishing the great Mohanlal the very best for his 1st directorial venture ‘BARROZ’ .. success, prosperity and greater glory..(sic).”

Thanking Big B for his warm wishes, Mohanlal replied, “Sir, it is with great gratitude that I accept your passionate message. Yesterday, sharing a video message, Mohanlal had announced, “In the wonderful paths that life travelled through, without even realising it, I became an actor and a filmmaker. Cinema became my life and livelihood. Now, I am setting out on another wonderful journey; with the start of the Barroz shoot on March 24, I am making my debut as director. It is a blessing that I have Navodaya with me in their venture. I request that you support me as the Barroz journey gets underway.”

Based on the novel of  Jijo Punnoose of the same name, Barroz will see Mohanlal in the titular role. The film also features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Paz Vega, Shayla McCaffrey, Rafael Amargo and Pratap Pothen. The film is expected to hit the silver screens in 2022.
