Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil‘ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Fawad Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, won many hearts with its heart touching story. Though the film went through a lot before its release and was almost on the verge of getting banned, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ managed to make it big at the box office.
Well, apart from the stars and the story, what also attracted the masses was the soundtrack of the film. The title track of course was a huge hit and Arijit Singh’s fans went crazy over the song. But did you know, that there was one more stanza from the song, which went missing in the final draft?
Lyricist Amitabh Battacharya opened up about the same to a leading daily and also unveiled the lyrics of the deleted stanza. He was quoted saying, “Well, the title track ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ itself had a stanza, which we all loved, but it could not make it to the final draft for various technical reasons — the duration of the song, particular situation or whatever. But I really loved it a lot and I wish it was there.”
And here’s the deleted stanza.
Tere liye hoon main / bas ek haadsa
Mere wajood ki / hai tu hi dastaan
Jis jagah tu mujhe / thi chhod ke gayi
Hoon aaj bhi usi / doraahe pe khada
Meri zindagi hai, wahin pe thami
Meri har kami ko hai tu laazmi
Main jee sakoon tabhi/ Tu ho sake jo haasil
Tere bina guzaara / Ae dil hai mushkil
Beautiful, right? But anyway, the song without this paragraph too is quite soulful. (ALSO READ: Shah Rukh Khan didn’t even know what his name was in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’!)
