Here’s some good news for Bollywood filmmakers. B-Town filmmakers will get Rs 3 crore gift from Bihar. This will be a close-door discussion and it will be held at a suburban five-star hotel. The government’s representatives – Minister of Art and Culture, Shiv Chandra Ram, Principal secretary to Minister, Art and Culture department, Shiv Chandra Ram, Managing Director, Bihar State Film Development and Finance Corporation, Ganga Kumar, Principal Secretary, Art and Culture Department, Chaitanya Prasad and Development Commissioner of Bihar, Shishir Sinha, are set to arrive in Mumbai today to discuss the final details of this new initiative with representatives from the film fraternity.
Filmmaker and Censor Board member Ashoke Pandit states, “The idea is to make the shooting process as smooth as possible, like the Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh governments have managed to do in the recent past.” He also says that the Bihar Government wants credible names from Bollywood to work in their state. Notable filmmakers like Shyam Benegal, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ketan Mehta, Sudhir Mishra, Anil Sharma, Ramesh Sippy, Rajkumar Santoshi and Anees Bazmi, among others, will be present at the meeting. Imtiaz Ali, Dibakar Banerjee, Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl, Vikramaditya Motwane and Neeraj Ghaywan are expected to join in.
