Thalapathy Vijay starrer Beast to have a Summer 2022 release and not Pongal?

Thalapathy Vijay starrer Beast will release during summertime next year and not during the festival of Pongal as earlier speculated. As per Pinkvilla’s report, the movie will have Summer 2022 opening in theatres across the globe.

A source close to the development told Pinkvilla, “The team of Beast was looking to release during the Pongal weekend; however, the shooting took longer than expected and hence have decided on delaying the film to the Summer 2022 window (April End). The team has shot nearly 60% of the film already and the remaining portions will be shot over a period of the next two months.”

As per the same report, Nelson and Sun Pictures are expecting to wrap up the movie by November 20. Talking about Thalapathy Vijay starrer, the movie is set against the backdrop of a mall taken over by the terrorists resulting in a hostage-like situation. Vijay’s role’s traits are under wraps to maintain intrigue around the plot, however, there will be some power-packed scenes. Anbariv’s action is said to be the major highlight of Beast.

The action-drama is written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures. The movie stars Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, Shine Tom Chacko, VTV Ganesh, Aparna Das, Lilliput Faruqui, Ankur Ajit Vikal and Sathish Krishnan in key roles. While the music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the cinematography was handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and editing will be done by R. Nirmal.
