South Superstar Rajinikanth is a popular Indian film actor and a cultural icon. His popularity is such that he is worshiped as a God down South, by his die hard fans. As part of celebrating a new release every time, his fans pour liters of milk over his posters, such is his charm. An injunction suit was recently filed against the star and his fans for wasting thousands of liters of milk ahead of his film release.
Considering the criticism, a cafe in Chennai has thought about a unique way to celebrate Rajinikanth’s forty years in the industry and receiving a prestigious Padma award. To pay a tribute to their Thailava, the director of Zuka cafe, Srinath Balachandran has created a life-size statue of the superstar using 600 kilograms of chocolate. He took this stand after an online poll got him positive response from Rajini Sir’s fans.
He said, “It took us 168 hours and 600 kg of chocolate to make it. The statue is a little over 5’11” tall. The chocolate copy of the actor is dressed with cool sporty shades, salt-and-pepper hair and white beard; one armrests in his pocket and revealing a watch made of white chocolate.”
The statue has caught the attention of a lot of Rajinikanth fans who are thronging the cafe in droves to catch a glimpse of six-foot tall chocolate statue of their idol.
