Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan starrer Acharya’s release date has been postponed due to the rise in Covid-19 cases. Directed by Koratala Siva, the Telugu movie was slated to hit the theatres on February 4. Acharya is produced by Chiranjeevi’s actor-son Ram Charan and Niranjan Reddy under their banner Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainment. The makers shared the news of postponing the release date. Last year too, due to surge in Covid cases, Acharya was postponed. Release dates of movies like RRR, Radhe Shyam, Valimai and Jersey have also been pushed amid Covid-19 spike.
Konidela Pro Company wrote on Instagram and Twitter, “The release of #Acharya stands postponed due to the pandemic. The new release date would be announced soon.” The makers also extended wishes on the occasion of Sankranti, and urged everyone to follow COVID-19 protocols and stay safe.

Earlier, as per a report in Bollywood Hungama, on working with Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan said, “It will be an absolute honour for me to be able to share the same frame as my father. Also, it is not a cameo but a full-fledged role for me. I want to thank director Koratala Siva for making this happen.”
India is witnessing a spike in Covid-19 and new variant Omicron cases . The country reported 2,68,833 new Covid infections in a day taking the tally to 3,68,50,962, which includes 6,041 Omicron variant cases, according to the Union Health Ministry data on Saturday. There have been 402 deaths, taking the total fatalities to 4,85,752.
