The Madras High Court has ordered actor Dhanush to pay Rs 30 lakh pending taxes in a case related to an imported Rolls Royce car. For the unversed, recently actor Vijay too had received similar tax demand and had challenged in the court. While Justice SM Subramaniam has not allowed Dhanush’s plea for withdrawal of his case challenging the tax, had asked the actor to pay the pending amount in a matter of 48 hours, according to reports.
As per News18’s report, in Dhanush’s case, it was settled at Supreme Court. However, the Madras High Court judge had questioned why the actor had not paid up the tax even after settling the dispute at the top court in the year 2018. Earlier, a judge Madras High Court had earlier questioned actor Vijay on a tax-related matter when he imported Rolls Royce Ghost. Vijay then moved to Madras High Court against the single judge’s order.

The court had ordered an interim stay on the earlier order which had censorious remarks against the actor. The same allowed the tax department to raise another tax challan for remittance of the remaining tax amount.
