Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan has landed in trouble with Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK). The theatre owners association says that they will not co-operate with his movies. They are miffed with the Hey Sinamika actor after he announced that his upcoming release Salute will release on the OTT platform.

Salute was slated to release on January 15, but it was delayed due to the covid pandemic. The actor has recently announced that Salute will skip the theatrical release and premiere directly on SonyLIV on 18 March.

As reported by sources, “Salute featuring the actor in the lead is backed by his Wayfarer Films. The association has claimed that the production house had a release agreement with them in place. However, the production house decided to release the film directly on the OTT platform. They did this without any discussion made with the association.”

Sources added, “FEOUK has also decided to not co-operate with movies that feature the actor and films that are produced by him”.

Dulquer Salmaan is yet to react to FEUOK’s decision.

Salute also features Diana Penty, Manoj K Jayan, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Saikumar, Binu Pappu, Deepak Parambol, and Saniya Iyappan in pivotal roles.

On the work front, Dulquer will also mark his OTT debut in Raj and DK’s quirky crime thriller Guns and Gulaabs.
