We are not trying to copy Pushpa: Dulquer Salmaan on King of Kotha comparison to Allu Arjun’s film

Dulquer Salmaan is busy with his upcoming film King of Kotha. The actor is making his comeback to the big screen with King of Kotha. Dulquer will be seen playing the role of Raaj in the same. The film’s trailer was unveiled by the makers a few days ago. The trailer received a good response from fans. However, a section of netizens compared it with Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise.

Dulquer Salmaan talks about King of Kotha and Pushpa comparison

Now, at a recent event, Dulquer was asked about the comparison and he gave an apt reply. The actor said, “There was no influence as such. I do love Bunny (Allu Arjun) as an actor and as a performer. But I think, this film was with us since 2019 and I think even as far as, maybe three years ago they put up a character sketch. So, we kind of had this plan in our minds. But I have heard this and I think that somewhere it’s a compliment. We are not trying to imitate or copy. But I hope it does as well as Pushpa did.”

Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa: The Rise was released in December 2021. It was a massive hit.

Coming back to Dulquer’s King of Kotha, it also stars Shahul Haasan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nyla Usha, and Chemban Vinod Jose. The upcoming action film is directed by Abhilash Joshiy. King of Kotha is produced by Wayfarer Films and Zee Studios. It is slated to release on 24^th August.

Apart from King of Kotha, Dulquer also has Raj & DK’s Guns & Gulaabs. It also stars RajKummar Rao, Gulshan Devaiah and others. Guns & Gulaabs releases on 18^th of August on Netflix.
