Dulquer Salmaan REACTS after Rana Daggubati apologizes to Sonam Kapoor for his ‘Big Hindi heroine’ comment

Recently, Rana Daggubati commented on a ‘very famous Bollywood actress’ during a press release event of King Of Kotha starring Dulquer Salmaan. The intention of Rana was to actually praise Dulquer, but he ended up taking a dig at Sonam Kapoor.

Later, Rana took to his Twitter handle and dropped a public apology. He had written, “I am genuinely troubled by the negativity that has been aimed at Sonam due to my comments, that are totally untrue and were meant entirely in a light-hearted manner. As friends, we often exchange playful banter, and I deeply regret that my words have been misinterpreted. I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt apologies to Sonam and Dulquer, both of whom I hold in great esteem. I hope this clarification puts an end to any speculation and misunderstanding. Thank you for your understanding. (sic).”

Dulquer Salmaan breaks silence on Rana Daggubati’s comment

Since the matter also involved Dulquer Salmaan, the actor has finally broken the silence over it. Speaking with Zoom, the King Of Kotha actor said, “It is his statement, so I don’t want to dive into it. I cherish everyone. I feel that I have a wonderful group of friends, including co-actors and industry peers. I’m easygoing, I don’t usually complain, and I’m fine. I believe whatever he chose to say, maybe he wasn’t considering it fully. That’s why he apologized. He’s a close friend, and I suppose he was concerned that it impacted all of us, so he clarified.”

Before Dulquer cleared the air about the issue, Sonam had taken to her Instagram handle and dropped a cryptic story. She had dropped a quite by Eleanor Roosevelt saying, “Small minds discuss people, average minds discuss event, great minds discuss ideas.” Apart from this, she had also commented on it saying, “Just a little something I’d like some people to know. Especially when discussing things about people that are made up”

What had happened?

At a press release event of King Of Kotha, Rana Daggubati and Nani were invited as the chief guests. Both veteran actors share a friendly bond with Dulquer Salmaan. At the event, Rana had said that a ‘Big Hindi heroine’ had wasted Dulquer’s time on the sets.

Pinkvilla had reported Rana saying, “Dulquer was my junior at acting school. We became friends there. He is a very polite person. He’s doing a Hindi movie and the producers are my friends. The shoot was happening near my house. I went there to meet Dulquer.” It also said, “While he was standing in the corner with the spot boy, a big Hindi heroine who was doing that movie was engrossed in a phone conversation about shopping in London with her husband. Her lack of focus affected the shots’ quality, frustrating those on set.“

This comment led the audience to understand that Sonam Kapoor was being spoken of. Post the negativity that she had received after this comment, Rana issued a public apology to the actress.
