Navarasa, which means nine emotions, was one of the most-awaited series considering the amazing star cast, technicians and directors working on the project. And now, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Prayaga Martin who featured in one of the nine segments opened up about this highly-anticipated Tamil project and her co-star Suirya.
When asked about why she did the movie the actress said, “It is a great experience that I cannot wait to tell you and what it felt like. It feels like a debut because of the team that I got to work with. It is backed by Mani Ratnam sir and my part is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. We have Suriya Sir and Sreeram cranking the camera. We have Kartik doing the music. This is huge and massive for an actor like me. To have this project as my second step in the industry.”

When asked about her co-star Suriya, how it was working with him and what they connect on, she said, “Apart from the fact that the responsibility was so huge, there was nothing, no other factor, which made me feel like there is pressure. And none of them are intimidating, they are very gentle. Great gentlemen to work with. Extremely cordial great dignity, they have a soft, always calm and composed when they dealt with me.”
She also revealed what she and Suriya mostly talked about music. She added, “The movie is a musical romantic. Most of the conversation was about the script and few words were exchanged on the current music scene and the kind of music that we grew up with.”
For the unversed, the anthology is currently streaming on Netflix and is created by Mani Ratnam. He collaborated with Jayendra Panchapakesan to produce the series through their respective banners Madras Talkies and Qube Cinema Technologies. The 9 short films are directed by Priyadarshan, Karthik Subbaraj, Vasanth, Arvind Swami, Bejoy Nambiar, Karthick Naren, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Sarjun KM and Rathindran R. Prasad.
