Hyderabad Drug Raid: Naga Babu REACTS after daughter Niharika Konidela gets detained

On April 3, Sunday, actor Naga Babu’s daughter and megastar Chiranjeevi’s niece actress Niharika Konidela was detained after a raid took place at a hotel in Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills. Bigg Boss Telugu winner Rahul Sipligunj, along with 150 others were also detained by the Hyderabad police in the raid. As per reports, drugs worth Rs lakhs were found at The Mink pub in Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, Banjara Hills. Naga Babu has reacted to his daughter’s detention by police as he has released a statement where he said that Niharika has nothing to do with the drugs.

In the video the actor said, “My daughter Niharika was detained for being present at a pub in a five-star hotel last night. Police have nabbed the management for running the pub beyond permitted timings. However, the police have confirmed she is clean and has nothing to do with the drugs that were recovered”.

He has also requested everyone not to speculate on baseless information as he added, “I have seen a lot of baseless news doing rounds on social media. I appeal to everyone to stop spreading such rumours”.

Sharing the video on his Instagram handle, Naga Babu wrote, “No Matter How Fast a Lie Runs..,The Truth will always overtake it !(sic)”.

As per a report in TOI, an Andhra Pradesh IPS officer’s daughter, a Tollywood singer, and a son of a businessman-turned-politician from AP were among the 150 members at the party. A senior police officer has told CNN-News18 that blood samples of 45 detainees have been collected for further medical examination to ascertain whether there has been drug consumption.
