Director Indra Kumar who is currently busy with his upcoming adult comedy ‘Great Grand Masti’ has finalized his next project. He plans to direct a sequel to the 1990 hit ‘Dil’ which starred Aamir Khan and Madhuri Dixit Nene in lead roles. He will be relaunching his daughter Shweta through this movie. Shweta Kumar has been a part of movies like ‘Karzzzz’ and ‘Super Nani’.
A source reveals, “Indra Kumar has been planning on this sequel since many years and has finally green-lit the project. Also he had earlier revealed that he won’t be casting Aamir Khan in the sequel as he would not fit the role now.”
Also, since the music was a great hit among the audiences, Kumar is very much keen to recreate the same kind of magic again and has begun work in the music for ‘Dil 2’. The movie ‘Dil’ had some chartbusters like ‘Khambe Jaisi Khadi Hai’, ‘Mujhe Neend Na Aaye’ and ‘Hum Pyaar Karne Wale’.
Speculations were rife that Kumar would be casting newcomers but now that he has zeroed in on his daughter, then he may cast a young, known hero opposite her. He is hoping that his daughter gets third time lucky with this movie, as her previous two outings were flops at the box office. The director remained unavailable for a comment.
