Jyotika- Sasikumar starrer Udanpirappe to release on OTT on THIS date

Jyotika and Sasikumar’s upcoming film Udanpirappe is all set to release on Amazon Prime Video on the occasion of Dussehra i.e on October 14. The film is directed by Era Saravanan and is produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment. It is Jyotika’s 50th film of her career. On September 30, Amazon Prime Video took to social media to announce Udanpirappe’s release date.

The film will also release in Telugu and is titled Raktha Sambandham. The OTT platform sharing the Tamil and Telugu posters, wrote, “welcoming the queen #Jyotika with her king. This Dussehra, we bring to you a film filled with love, laughter, drama but above else, a celebration of family. Watch #UdanpirappeOnPrime, Oct 14 #Jo50 (sic).”

Talking about Udanpirappe, the film is about the bond between siblings played by Jyotika and Sasikumar. The movie also stars Samuthirakani, Kalaiyarasan, Nivedithaa Sathish and Soori in pivotal roles.

Earlier, Udanpirappe was slated to release in theatres. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the production house decided to take the OTT route.

Udanpirappe is the second film out of the four films from Suriya’s 2D Entertainment to release on Amazon Prime Video this year. Earlier this year, Suriya announced that four films from his production house will directly premiere on Amazon Prime Video. The first flick was Ramya Pandian and Mithun Manickam’s Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum.
