When a stellar actor and a director come together to collaborate for a movie, it’s like cherry on the cake, isn’t it? Kamal Haasan is reuniting with filmmaker Mani Ratnam after 35 years. The great news was announced by the Vikram actor on social media ahead of his birthday. The film is tentatively titled KH 234.
Kamal Haasan who celebrates his 68th birthday today, opened up about his collaboration with the Ponniyin Selvan director. He told NDTV, “I am excited about the project”.
KH 234 marks Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam’s reunion for a film after 35 long years. The duo worked together in 1987 cult gangster drama Nayakan.
It will be produced by Haasan, Mani Ratnam, R Mahendran and Siva Ananth under their banners Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies. The film will be presented by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies. Kamal Haasan made the announcement on his social media handles as he wrote, “Here we go again #KH234”. It is releasing in 2024.

“I was equally excited 35 years before when I was about to start work with Mr. Mani Ratnam. Collaborating with a similar mindset is stimulating. This stimulation includes Mr. Rahman as well. Eagerly looking forward to presenting this venture with Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin,” said Kamal in a statement.
While the Guru director said, “Happy, honoured and excited to collaborate with Kamal Sir again.”

Kamal Haasan was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram that was a blockbuster. He will also be seen in Shankar’s Indian 2 and the shoot has already resumed.
