Rishab Shetty’s Kantara emerged as one of the most successful films pan-India upon its release in 2022. Now, Shetty is directing and starring in a prequel titled Kantara: Chapter 1, and the filming for same has also began. However, the film is now facing a hurdle. As per reports pouring in, the film’s shooting is being stalled as a bus carrying its junior artists met with an accident.
As per the report, six junior artists from the film have been hospitalised, resulting in the film’s production coming to a pause. Read on to know the details.
Kantara: Chapter 1 junior artists injured, shoot halted
As per a recent PTI report, several junior artists of Kantara: Chapter 1 recently met with an accident, resulting in severe injuries for six persons. The local police revealed the accident took place near Jadkal on Sunday night when the mini-bus carrying the film crew overturned. An officer told the news agency, “The incident happened while they were returning to Kollur after completing the shoot at Mudoor in Jadkal. The mini-bus was carrying 20 junior artists when it met with the accident.”
News18 reported that 6 of the 20 passengers onboard sustained serious injuries and are hospitalised to Jadkaal Mahalakshmi Clinic. The entire team of the film is waiting for further health updates of the injured artists. The film is currently being shot in various coastal regions and many local artists from these regions are involved in the shoot.
