Karan Johar denies turning a singer with his film ‘Baar Baar Dekho’

Filmmaker Karan Johar is known to be one of the most versatile personalities in Bollywood when it comes to successfully donning different roles like Direction, Writing, Production, Costume Designing, Columnist, Television host and now, even acting. Recently, a rumour was floating around from the sets of television reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ where someone overheard this director speaking to his co-judge Jacqueline Fernandez that he would be making his debut as a singer with his forthcoming production ‘Baar Baar Dekho’.

A source said, “The songs are composed by Amaal Mallik, Jasleen Royal, Arko, Bilal Saeed and Badshah. Karan, who is always involved in the music of his films, loved one of the tracks. Though it is believed that he was quite kicked about the possibility of singing it, he told the makers that he not had any official training, so he wasn’t sure whether he’d be able to pull it off.” [sic]

However when one of the leading daily contacted this multitasker, he almost laughed down this rumour clarifying, “Haha! It’s the funniest thing I have heard! I am tone-deaf and would never sing.”

Perhaps, if Karan would have crooned for this number he would definitely have added another feather to his cap, adding his name to the list as the second prominent name after another his multi-talented contemporary Farhan Akhtar.

Co-incidentally ‘Baar Baar Dekho’, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif in lead would be the first co-production venture between Karan’s company Dharma Productions, and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, along with his partner Ritesh Sidhwani. The movie is all set to release on September 9, 2016.

Currently, Karan Johar is busy with the last shooting schedule of his directorial ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Anushka Sharma.
