The other thing that left everyone excited about Kalki 2898 AD was the cameos by some renowned actors and personalities. This only excited the excitement to watch the movie. But the one character that no one couldn’t decode is the role of Lord Krishna. In the film, the makers have shown a silhouette of Lord Krishna instead of revealing the entire face. However, fans quickly started decoding it and concluded that actor Mahesh Babu would play the character in Kalki 2898 AD. Now, director Nag Ashwin talked about the character in Kalki 2898 AD and it’s not Mahesh Babu.
During a conversation with Pinkvilla, Nag Ashwin said, “The idea was to always keep him a silhouette and formless, without an identity. Otherwise, it just becomes a person or an actor. The idea was always to keep him dark-skinned and silhouetted, just like a mysterious figure. I think that’ll (casting) go against the point.” This only means that Lord Krishna might not have a face in the movie just a silhouette.
Nevertheless, it has been revealed who played Lord Krishna in the movie and he was a Tamil actor Krishnakumar. Sharing a screenshot from the film, he wrote, “#kalki2898ad An absolute honour to be able to open an epic film, playing such a special character. Grateful.”
