Meghana Raj announced her comeback to films and acting on her late husband Chiranjeevi Sarja’s second birth anniversary. She revealed that she will be playing the lead role in debutant director Vishal’s upcoming film. The yet to be titled movie will be produced by Meghana and Chiranjeevi’s best friend and director Pannaga Bharana. The movie will go on floors in the coming months. She had earlier expressed her wish to be back on sets many times.
Sharing a series of pictures with Pannaga Bharana and debutant director Vishal, Meghana wrote, “No other day could have been better, no other team could have been better ITS UR BIRTHDAY, ITS OUR DREAM This is for YOU CHIRU! In an interview with TOI, she opened up on how she got the movie. She said, “Pannaga had just told me that he wanted me to listen to a script. This story was so impressive that it lingered in my mind. It was then, a couple of days later, that he asked me to act in it. Since he is there and the script was apt, I felt this was the right one for me to get back in front of the screen.”
This movie which is apparently a thriller will mark the return of the actress to movies after 2 years. After her husband’s sudden demise in the year 2020 and the birth of her son Raayan, she took a sabbatical. For the unversed, Chiranjeevi Sarja passed away on June 7, 2020, after suffering a massive heart attack. Meghana welcomed a baby boy, Raayan Raj Sarja, in the month of October last year.
