#MeToo effect has led to the suspension of one more director and this time its casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who was supposed to make his directorial debut with ‘Kizie Aur Manny’, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and newbie Sanjana Sanghi in lead roles.

Mukesh Chhabra was accused of sexual harassment and misconduct by several women after a report appeared in Mid-Day. Now in the wake of all these allegations made against Mukesh, Fox Star Studios, the banner which is producing ‘Kizie Aur Manny’, took to Twitter today and announced that they are suspending Mukesh from his services until the enquiry against him concludes.

Their full statement read, “As a responsible organization, Star India takes any allegation of sexual harassment of women at workplace very seriously hence Fox Star Studios has suspended the services of Mukesh Chabbra, director of our film, ‘Kizzie Aur Manny’, which is under productions, till the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of M/s Mukesh Chhabra Casting Company concludes its inquiry into the allegations against him.”

Mukesh on his part has categorically denied all the allegations made against him. Presenting his side of the story, Mukesh even issued a statement and said that he would take legal actions against the false accusations.

Previously he was even dropped from India Film Project panel when several allegations against him surfaced.

‘Kizie Aur Manny’ is a Hindi adaptation of the hit Hollywood film ‘Fault In Our Stars’. Now it has to be seen if Mukesh gets replaced by another director or if he is allowed to continue.
