Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahaakshay’s wedding cancelled

Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahaakshay’s wedding was cancelled on Saturday following the arrival of a police team to investigate a complaint of rape and cheating that had been filed against him. The development came even after a Delhi court had granted anticipatory bail to Chakraborty’s wife Yogeeta Bali and their son Mahaakshay.

As per PTI reports, Mahaakshay‘s wedding was scheduled to happen today at the actor’s posh hotel in Udhagamandalam (Ooty), Tamil Nadu. The police, however, said that ceremony got cancelled and the bride along with her family left the venue post the arrival of the investigating team. Further investigations are on.

Rohini court had earlier ordered registration of FIR against Mahaakshay and Yogeeta after an actress filed a complaint against them. In the complaint, she stated that Mahakshay had made physical relationship with her after promising to marry her. The complainant also alleged that she had become pregnant, but Mahaakshay gave her some medicine to induce abortion.

She had further added in her complaint that, Mahaakshay’s mother had threatened her of dire consequences if she continued the relationship. The complainant also said, that she moved to Delhi from Mumbai as she feared for her life in view of threats made by Bali and her son.

On Thursday, the Bombay High Court had refused to grant any interim relief from arrest to Bali and Mahaakshay. They then submitted a plea in the Delhi High Court, where they were granted anticipatory bail.

Reportedly, Mahaakshay was supposed to tie the knot to yesteryear actress Sheela Sharma’s daughter Madalsa Sharma today. The duo got engaged in March this year at a low-key function that was held in Mumbai. But due to the complaint, as of now the wedding stands cancelled.
