Mohanlal joins Vishnu Manchu in the epic pan-Indian film Kannappa

A few days ago, Telugu actor Vikram Manchu took to his social media to announce starting a new adventure. The actor began the shoot of his ambitious project Kannappa in New Zealand. He shared a heartfelt note regarding the same and promised an epic cast for the film. And now, the first name in it has been confirmed by Vishnu Manchu himself, and it is superstar Mohanlal.

Mohanlal joins Vishnu Manchu starrer Kannappa

After Vishnu put up the post promising an envious star cast for Kannappa, rumours started doing the rounds of several big names. First it was Prabhas and then it was Mohanlal’s name. And on Saturday, Vishnu confirmed the news himself by taking on social media. Resharing a report stating that after Prabhas, Mohanlal has joined the team, he wrote on X (Twitter) “Har Har Mahadev!”

Kannappa is going to be a grand pan-India film with Mukesh Kumar Singh as the director. The film is a cinematic ode to the unwavering devotion of Bhakta Kannappa, a staunch follower of Lord Shiva. Its grand launch took place in August amid auspicious rituals. Vishnu has been instrumental in shaping the narrative over the past seven years. The film is touted to be an action adventure-drama and is produced by Mohan Babu.

Mohanlal’s addition takes the stature of Kannappa to another level. The actor is also starring in another pan-India film Vrushabha. Ektaa R Kapoor is producing that film which also marks the debut of Shanaya Kapoor. As for Prabhas, the actor will be arriving this Christmas with Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire as its new release date is now December 22, 2023. With names like Prabhas, Vishnu and Mohanlal, Kannappa is truly turning out to be a grand venture. And if Vishnu’s post is something to go by, there are some more big names that might be announced soon, including Nayanthara who is also rumoured to be a part of the film.
