Naga Chaitanya SLAMS Konda Surekha for controversial statement regarding his divorce with Samantha Ruth Prabhu

Telangana Minister Konda Surekha’s controversial statement about Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce has created quite a stir. After Samantha reacted to the news by asking the minister to “be responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy“, the actress’ ex-husband Chaitanya released a statement. The ‘Majili’ actor posted a lengthy note to his social media calling Surekha’s claims “not only false, it is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.”

For the unversed, Surekha claimed that BRS president KT Rama Rao was responsible for Samantha and Chaitanya’s divorce. According to the minister, KTR’s allegedly demanded Samantha be sent to him to stay the diminishing of Nagarjuna’s N-convention centre. This reportedly caused disturbances in the Akkineni family, ultimately resulting in the high-profile divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

Taking to his Instagram Stories a while ago, Naga Chaitanya took a firm stand against Konda Surekha’s claims. He began his note by stating, “The decision of divorce is easily one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions one has to make. After a lot of thought, a mutual decision was made by me and my former spouse to part ways. It was a decision made in peace, owing to our different life goals and in the interest of moving forward with respect and dignity as two mature adults.”

Addressing the minister directly in his post, the ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ actor continued, “However, there have been various baseless and completely ridiculous gossips on the matter so far. I have remained silent all this while out of deep respect for my earlier spouse as well as my family. Today, the claim made by Minister Konda Surekha Garu is not only false, it is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Women deserve to be supported and respected.”

He concluded his note with a strong statement reading, “Taking advantage and exploiting the personal life decisions of celebrities for the sake of media headlines is shameful.”

During a recent interaction, Telangana minister Konda Surekha claimed that KT Rama Rao demanded Samantha be sent to him in exchange for sparing Nagarjuna Akkineni’s N-Convention Centre from demolition. According to her, Samantha refused to comply which ultimately resulted in her and Naga Chaitanya divorcing. The Deccan Herald quoted Surekha saying, “KTR asked to send Samantha in return for not demolishing the N-convention centre. Nagarjuna forced Samantha to go to KTR, but she said no. That led to divorce.” The ‘Brahmastra’ actor’s convention centre was partially demolished on August 24, 2024, by HYDRAA for encroaching on lake buffer zones.

Speaking to the media, Surekha also claimed, “It is KT Rama Rao because of whom Samantha’s divorce happened. He was a minister at that time and used to tap the phones of the actresses and then find their weaknesses to blackmail them. He used to make them drug addicts and then do this. Everyone knows this, Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, his family, everybody is aware that such a thing happened.”

Naga Chaitanya has moved forward in his personal life. He got engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala on August 5. Chaitanya’s father, actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, welcomed Sobhita into the family by announcing the couple’s engagement via a social media post.
