Naga Chaitanya confirms DIVORCE with Samantha Ruth Prabhu

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who were married for four years, are now legally divorced.

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu had announced their separation in October. The now ex-couple’s separation news broke many hearts. The duo has parted ways, but they continue to remain friends. Naga Chaitanya, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Custody, confirmed that he and Samantha are ‘legally divorced’. Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu were granted divorce by a court a year ago.

Here’s what Naga Chaitanya said about divorce with Samantha…

Speaking with ETimes, he said, “It has been more than two years since we separated and a year since we formally divorced. The court has granted us a divorce. Both of us have moved on with our lives. I have tremendous respect for that phase of my life.”

The actor further went on to call his ex-wife a ‘lovely person’. He said, “She is a lovely person and deserves all the happiness. It is only when the media speculates that things get awkward between us. In the public eye, that mutual respect is taken away. That’s what I feel about.”

For the uninitiated, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha had announced their separation in a joint statement. The statement read, “To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well-wishers and the media to support us during the difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support.”

Naga Chaitanya is now rumoured to be dating Sobhita Dhulipala. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Naga Chaitanya was asked about his relationship status and he kept smiling. The actor added that he is just ‘happy’.

Talking about his upcoming film, Custody will release on 12^th May, 2023.
