Today (September 20) is Nagarjuna Akkineni’s father, Telugu actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s birth anniversary. Had he been alive, he would have turned 99 today. He left for his heavenly abode at the age of 90 in 2014 after battling stomach cancer. His son, actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has remembered his late father on his birth anniversary with a heartfelt note.
The Brahmastra actor took to Twitter handle to pay tribute to his father with a picture. Nagarjuna wrote, “Remembering Nana on his birthday ??” and added, “He would say – “I connect to my audience to bring them a brief escape to hope !! that’s all I know to do.” ? Sending our immense love and gratitude to him !!happy birthday ?❤️” with #ANRLivesOn

Akkineni Nageswara Rao, popularly known as ANR was an active member of the film industry from his early 40s till 2013 before his demise.
Meanwhile, Nagarjuna is gearing up for his 100th film. In an interview with Pinkvilla, he said, “They are all being assigned, that’s been done. I am looking into all of those things. I want to make sure. I can’t tell you the names of these filmmakers because there are two or three I am listening to in parallel, so it’s not nice.”
On the work front, he will be seen in action drama, The Ghost. Directed by Praveen Sattaru, the movie also stars Sonal Chauhan as the female lead.
His character Anish, the Nandi Astra in the recent release Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra has been highly praised by the audience.
