Sanjay Dutt should Not be Forgiven – Nana Patekar

Sanjay Dutt, son of actor and former Congress minister Sunil Dutt and actress Nargis, enjoys goodwill in both politics and the movie industry. His sister Priya is a Congress lawmaker from Mumbai. Sanjay Dutt who has been convicted for the 1993 Mumbai blasts has been out on bail,in March the Supreme court ordered him to return to prison to complete his sentence of five years but granted him time to finish his pending work. Well this has not gone down well with Actor Nana Patekar,who has in a rare outburst spoken out against Sanjay amid a chorus of bollywood  celebrities voicing their support for the actor.

According to sources,Patekar hinted that Sanjay Dutt, the most high-profile of 100 people involved in the Mumbai bombings trial, had been let off lightly. Patekar said he will never work with Dutt or watch his films.The nature of his crime is horrible. Why should justice be meted out differently for him?The law is different for a poor man and different for me, just because I am actor? Why should that be?”

Well Patekar’s reaction is at odds with the Hindi film industry that came out in Dutt’s support and called for him to be pardoned.
