The trailer of Navarasa is finally out! The Tamil anthology comprises nine short films based on nine ‘rasas’ (emotions). The trailer is hardly 2 minutes where we get a sneak-peek of the nine stories. Nothing much is revealed in the trailer but we are sure that it is a rollercoaster ride of all the nine emotions of human beings.
The trailer starts with Suriya’s character’s dialogue. He talks about a girl Nethra (Prayaga Martin) whom he met and had feelings for her. Suriya and Prayaga’s short film is titled Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru. Then follows the glimpses of other shorts where we get to see emotions like hatred, fear, vengeance, deceit, anger, and more.

Navarasa has some of the stellar cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj, Siddharth, Saravanan, Revathy, Nithya Menen, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Aishwarya Rajessh, Alagam Perumal, Poorna, Riythvika, Prasanna, Vikranth, Simha, Gautham Karthik, Ashok Selvan, Robo Shankar, Ramesh Thilak, Sananth, Vidhu and Sreeram. Gautham Vasudev Menon, Arvind Swami, Karthik Subbaraj, Bejoy Nambiar, Karthick Naren, KV Anand, Ponram, Rathindran Prasad and Halitha Shameem are the directors.
Navarasa is produced by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies and Jayendra Panchapakesan. AR Rahman, Arul Dev, Karthik, Ron Ethan Yohann, D Imman, Ghibran, Govind Vasantha, and Justin Prabhakaran have composed the music. It is a charity project and the earnings from the film will go to those who are affected by the Covid-19 induced lockdown.
Navarasa will start streaming on Netflix on August 6.
