Nayanthara replaces Nupur Sanon, to reunite with Prabhas after 16 years for Kannappa – Reports

Popular South actor Prabhas enthralled everyone with his role in Baahubali. Recently, the actor portrayed the role of Lord Ram in Om Raut’s Adipurush. The film also starred Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in pivotal roles. Speculations are rife that the actor will essay the role of Lord Again. The actor is a part of Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa as Lord Shiva. Kannappa will also mark Prabhas’ reunion with Yogi co-star Nayanthara.

Nayanthara to star opposite Prabhas in Kannappa?

A few days back, Vishnu Manchu shared a tweet and confirmed that Prabhas is very much a part of the film. As per recent reports doing rounds on the internet, the makers have approached Nayanthara to play a key role in the film. She is being considered to be paired up with Prabhas. However, she has not yet signed the dotted lines. If this collaboration happens, it will mark Nayanthara and Prabhas’ reunion after 16 years. For the unversed, the actors worked together on a Telugu film titled Yogi in 2007.

Earlier Nupur Sanon was approached and finalized for this role. However, due to date issues, she backed out. Vishnu Manchu shared a tweet confirming this and wrote, “Sad to announce that lovely Nupur Sanon has to step down from Kannappa due to scheduling conflicts. We’ll miss her but the hunt for a new heroine begins.”

Reportedly, Prabhas will have an extensive 30-minute role in the film. It will be a prominent one and add gravitas to the narrative.

Prabhas and Nayanthara’s upcoming projects

On the work front, Nayanthara is currently basking in the success of her recently released film Jawan. While Prabhas has two pan-India projects i.e. Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire and Kalki 2898 AD.
