Fans express love for their favourite stars in many ways such as sending them gifts, naming their kids after them, doing social service in their name and more. Another way fans shower love on their favourites is by bestowing titles on them like ‘Megastar’ Chiranjeevi, ‘Darling’ Prabhas, ‘Rocking Star’ Yash, ‘Thalaivar’ Rajinikanth, ‘Lady Superstar’ Nayanthara and more.
Now, the ‘Toxic’ actress has taken to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a note asking her admirers to stop addressing her as ‘Lady Superstar’ and only call her by her name. Scroll below to know why she wants fans to drop the title.
Nayanthara Requests Fans To Stop Calling Her Lady Superstar
Late Tuesday night, Nayanthara took to her X account and wrote that while ‘titles and accolades are priceless’ they can create an image that separates an actor from their work and even affect the bond an actor share with her audience. The actress began the note by addressing the statement to her “Dearest Fans, Esteemed Members of the Media, and the Film Fraternity.”
She then added, “While thanking all my sources of happiness and success for my journey as an actress, I sincerely hope this note finds you and your families in the best of health and happiness. My life has been an open book that has always found its adornment with your unconditional love and affection. Be it the pat on my shoulder during my success or extending your hand to lift me during hardships, you have always been there for me.”
Nayanthara On Titles Accolades
Talking about the ‘Lady Superstar’ bestowed on her and not wanting it to be used anymore, the ‘Jawan’ actress said, “Many of you have graciously referred to me as “Lady Superstar,” a title born out of your immense affection. I owe you all a lot for crowning me with such a valuable title. However, I humbly request you all to call me “Nayanthara.” This is because I feel that the name is what I hold closest to my heart. It represents who I am not just as an actor but as an individual.” She continued, “Titles and accolades are priceless, but they can sometimes create an image that separates us from our work, our craft, and the unconditional bond we share with you the audience.”
She ended her note by adding, “I believe we all share the language of love that keeps us connected beyond all limits. While the future might be unpredictable for all of us, I’m so happy that your unfading support will remain constant, and so will my hard work to entertain you. Cinema is what keeps us united, and let us keep celebrating it together. With love, respect, and gratitude, Nayanthara”
Upcoming projects
On the work front, Nayanthara has joined the cast of Mahesh Narayanan’s much-anticipated Malayalam film. Tentatively titled MMMN, this project will see Mohanlal and Mammootty reunite on screen after 16 years. The actress is also part of director Senthil Nallasamy’s period-action drama Rakkayie and Geetu Mohandas’ Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups co-starring Yash, Huma Qureshi, Tovino Thomas, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and others.
