Netrikann Trailer: Feisty Nayanthara is up against a criminal on a killing spree in this nail-biting thriller

Nayanthara starrer Netrikann trailer is finally out! Nayanthara’s boyfriend, Vignesh Shivan has produced the film and it has been directed by Milind Rau. The film will release on Disney+ Hotstar on August 13 in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam including Tamil. On July 21, the official Twitter handle of Disney+ Hotstar shared a new poster and confirmed that the film will release on the OTT platform. The film was supposed to release in theaters but due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the makers decided to opt for the OTT route. In Netrikann, lady superstar Nayanthara is playing a visually impaired person.

In the trailer, we see Nayanthara as a visually challenged is on a hunt to find a criminal who has kidnapped girls. Though Nayanthara can’t see, she is seen using her vital senses to get the clues and catch the culprit. She looks really impressive in her character.

Nayanthara’s Netrikann is Vignesh Shivan’s maiden production venture under his banner Rowdy Pictures. Apart from Nayanthara, Netrikann also features Ajmal Ameer, Manikandan Pattambi and Saran in key roles.

Rajinikanth’s 1981 film was also titled Netrikann. Director Milind had earlier told the Times of India that they visited the producers of Rajnikanth’s film to get permission to use the title. He said, “The film Netri Kann was financed by K Balachander’s production house. We met Pushpa Kandaswamy, KB’s daughter, to get a NOC to use the title. Interestingly, Nayanthara’s first film was produced by KB sir’s production house. So, everything fell in place.”

The film is reportedly an official remake of the 2011 South Korean movie Blind.
