The National Award winning filmmaker Onir who is best known for his work in the movie ‘My Brother… Nikhil’ is all set to helm a documentary after 20 years. The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne has roped the filmmaker for a documentary on Down Syndrome which will be premiered at the film festival in August.
The aim of the documentary is to raise awareness about the genetic disorder. Onir will be travelling to various cities to shoot the film and will complete by next month. It will be an 80-minute documentary and will have success and inspirational stories of eight kids with Down syndrome. It will be released online, post premiere.
The filmmaker is currently busy with his next film ‘Shab’ which is in post-production and will star Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Suri in lead roles.
