Ponniyin Selvan 1: Karthi as Vanthiyathevan is charming and adventurous spy in new poster

Ponniyin Selvan is one of the most-anticipated movies. The makers have been droppping posters of the magnum opus. After Chiyaan Vikram’s poster as prince Aditya Karikalan, today, the makers shared a new poster of Karthi. He has been introduced as Vanthiyathevan, a spy and a prince without kingdom. In the poster, he can be seen flashing his smile that will surely make female fans go gaga over him.

Karthi is sporting long hair and is sitting on a horse in the new poster. The makers took to social media and shared the new poster of Karthi and wrote, “The Prince without a kingdom, the spy, the swashbuckling adventurer…here comes Vanthiyathevan! #PS1 @madrastalkies_ #ManiRatnam.”

Ponniyin Selvan, the first part, PS-1 stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarath Kumar, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Prabhu, Parthiban, and Prakash Raj. It is directed by Mani Ratnam and is slated to release worldwide on September 30 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. It will release in two installments.

Ponniyin Selvan is based on 1955 historical fiction novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The story is set in the period before Ponniyin Selvan (son of River Kaveri), later known as Rajaraja Chola who became one of the greatest emperors in Indian history.

It is jointly produced by Mani Ratnam and Lyca Productions. A.R. Rahman is the music composer.
