Pushpa 2 release date: Allu Arjun chooses a BIG holiday for his fiery return as the National Award winning character

Allu Arjun recently created history by becoming the first Telugu actor to win a National Award. The superstar won in the Best Actor category for his performance in the pan-Indian blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. A sequel to Pushpa was immediately announced after the first film and has been long awaited. And now, we have a release date for Pushpa 2.

Allu Arjun announces Pushpa 2 release date

On Monday, Allu took to Instagram to announce the release date of the sequel. The actor shared a new poster from the film that has a blurry Allu in the background while the focus is on his bejewelled hand. Full of rings and gold bracelets, the poster brings out the new stature of the eponymous character. It also fits perfectly with the name of the film, Pushpa: The Rule.

Along with it, the actor declared that the film will release on Independence Day next year. It has blocked the date of August 15, 2024. Since the date falls on a Thursday next year, the film will enjoy a four day extended weekend. Not just that, it will also be facing a clash with Ajay Devgn starrer Singham 3. But if the I-Day clash this year between Gadar 2 and OMG 2 is something to by, both films have the potential to perform exceedingly well even with the clash.

Pushpa 2 details

Pushpa: The Rule will see Allu return as the titular character, along with Rashmika Mandanna, who plays Srivalli. The first film in the series released in 2020 amidst COVID pandemic. It also clashed with a Hollywood biggie Spiderman: No Way Home. Yet, Pushpa emerged as a pan-India blockbuster. The film won two National Awards this year too. Apart from its leading man, composer Devi Sri Prasad also won. The same kind of success, just bigger, is now expected from the sequel too.
