Puzhu: Mammootty’s crime-thriller skips theatrical release

After Dulquer Salmaan’s Salute takes the OTT route, now Mammootty’s upcoming film Puzhu is all set to do the same. The megastar starrer crime thriller will skip a theatrical release. Directed by Ratheena PT, Puzhu featuring Mammootty and Parvathy will premiere on SonyLIV.

The announcement of the same was made on social media. Reportedly the release date of the movie will be announced soon.

Puzhu is an intense family thriller, which will see Mammootty in a grey shade. The film promises to be a gripping thriller around a father and son.

In January the teaser of the film was unveiled and it went on to garner 1 million views within a short time of its release. The first look poster too went viral on social media.

Puzhu was supposed to release in theatres in the first half of 2022. But, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the makers decided to release the movie on the OTT platform. SonyLIV has the streaming rights to the film.

Directed by Ratheena PT, Puzhu’s screenplay is written by Harshad, Sharfu and Suhas. The story is written by Harshad. Mammootty, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Nedumudi Venu, Athmiya Rajan, Malavika Menon and Vasudev Sanjeesh play pivotal roles in the film. Produced by Cyn-Cyl Celluloid, Puzhu is distributed by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films.
