R Madhavan hosts Rocketry: The Nambi Effect success party, Vijay Sethupathi attends the bash

R Madhavan’s directorial debut Rocketry: The Nambi Effect released on July 1 in theatres. The movie might have failed to mint moolah at the box-office but it has been lauded by fans, celebs and many dignitaries. The film has been a huge success and to celebrate it, Madhavan hosted a party in Mumbai.

The cast and crew of the film attended it including Madhavan’s Vikram Vedha co-star Vijay Sethupathi. Vikram Vedha directors Pushkar and Gayatri also attended the party. The actor’s Rang De Basanti co-star Kunal Kapoor too graced it. ISRO scientist, Nambi Narayanan, on whom Rocketry was made was also present. The pics have gone viral on social media.

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is a biopic based on former ISRO scientist and aerospace engineer Nambi Narayanan who was falsely accused of espionage. The film also stars Misha Ghoshal, Ravi Raghavendra and Simran in pivotal roles. Suriya and Shah Rukh Khan had cameo roles in the movie. The film was released in English, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. It is currently streaming on OTT platforms.

As per a report in Indian Express, on the success of Rocketry, Madhavan said, “In these times when biopics about gangsters and scamsters are getting audiences’ attention, I am grateful that people made time to see a biopic on a scientist who gave his blood, sweat and tears to make our nation proud.”
