After ‘Queen’, actors Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut will be working together again in Hansal Mehta’s upcoming flick ‘Simran’. Although the film will revolve around Kangana’s character, Rajkummar too will have a strong part to play.
Rajkummar has earlier collaborated with Mehta in three movies, ‘Shahid’, ‘Citylights’ and ‘Aligarh’. In ‘Simran’, Kangana will essay the role of a Gujarati NRI. The director told a daily, “We’ll be watching very successful commercial Gujarati films, so that Kangana gets a hang of the milieu and accent. We’ll also be catching Gujarati plays for which we’ll travel to Ahmedabad and Bangalore.”
Mehta says that the movie ‘Simran’ is unlike his previous films and is more a happy and fun film. “After Aligarh, which was emotionally very exhausting, we wanted to do a light-hearted fun film. We’re going to have a ball with this one.”
This is the first time that Mehta and Kangana are working together and the director is all praise for the actress.
In an interview to PTI, Kangana said, “Hansal is one of the most incredible and genuine talents that we have today. His Aligarh has by far been the best film India has seen in last 10 years and apart from being talented, he is a wonderful person.”
