Randeep Hooda to skip Sarbjit screening at Cannes Film Festival

Randeep Hooda and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer ‘Sarbjit’ will premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The Bachchan bahu, who will be completing her 15 years of going to the Cannes Film Fest, was quite excited about showcasing the Omung Kumar directorial there. ‘Sarbjit’ will be screened on May 14. It will be followed by a press conference the next day.

Aishwarya, who is the brand ambassador of Lóreal Paris, left for the French Riviera along with her adorable daughter Aaradhaya and mother Vrinda. She affirmed, “I am looking forward to presenting my movie ‘Sarbjit’ to the media, the film industry out there and whoever we manage to invite.”

Though Director Omung Kumar, Vanita Omung Kumar, Richa Chadha, Darshan Kumar, Sandeep Singh and the entire team will be flying tonight for Cannes, Randeep Hooda will give the Cannes premiere of ‘Sarbjit’ a miss because the doctor advised him against traveling so soon after his appendicitis surgery. Hence he would not be able to make it for the screening.

‘Sarbjit’ is the true life story of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian farmer who inadvertently crossed the India border into Pakistan, subsequently arrested, jailed and put on a death row. It depicts a 23-year tumultuous journey of his sister Dalbir Kaur who fought for the release of her innocent brother, but could not as he was killed by the jail inmates within the jail premises.

Sarbjit is all set to release on May 20, 2016 in India.
