Revealed: Anushka Sharma to play a Gujarati girl opposite Shah Rukh Khan

Anushka Sharma is currently riding high on the success of ‘Sultan’, which is to be followed by Karan Johar’s soon to be released ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ where she stars alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Fawad Khan. Looking at her graph as an actress, she has been quite selective about her film choices which rather makes her stand out from her contemporaries. Recently, after wrapping up ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and home production venture ‘Phillauri’, Anushka has already started prepping for her next project directed by Imtiaz Ali.

As we had reported earlier, this project which reunites Anushka with her first co-star Shah Rukh Khan is tentatively titled ‘The Ring’. And now we have got some latest update about the character this ‘NH10’ actress would be playing. According to a popular daily, Anushka would be seen as a Gujarati chokri in the film. A source quoted to that popular daily saying, “Yes, Anushka is playing a girl from Modi-land and to ensure that she gets the saru chhe nod from the Gujju bhais and bens she has been training with a diction coach since the last one month.”

This would be quite interesting, as Anushka has been experimenting with different dictions in her films. Anushka has been earlier seen as a Haryanvi wrestler in ‘Sultan’ and would be seen as a Pakistani girl in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ for which she had to brush up on her Urdu language, as added by a source.

Reportedly, both Anushka Sharma and SRK will start shooting for the film in Europe, where the first lag of shoot is to be done at Prague. SRK who was seen sporting a tattoo on his chest recently, will be essaying a Punjabi tourist guide in the film.
