Ratan Tata – the Chairman of the Tata Sons Group is no more. The industrialist – who was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2000 and Padma Vibhushan in 2008, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. The philanthropist passed away at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after being admitted there on October 7 for routine medical investigations due to his age and related medical conditions.
As the country and even millions abroad mourn the loss of the gem, several South Indian stars took to social media and paid heartfelt tributes to the industrialist.

About Ratan Tata
Ratan Tata joined the Tata group in 1961, where he worked on the shop floor of Tata Steel. He later succeeded J. R. D. Tata as chairman of Tata Sons upon the latter’s retirement in 1991. Under his tenure, the Tata Group acquired brands such as Tetley, Jaguar Land Rover, and Corus among others. The industrialist invested in companies like Snapdeal, Teabox, CashKaro, and Ola Cabs. Tata is also one of the largest and notable philanthropists, having donated around 60–65% of his income to charity.
