RRR beats Top Gun and The Batman for Best Action Film as it wins 4 trophies at the HCA Awards

SS Rajamouli’s epic drama continues it winning streak and bags 4 trophies at the HCA Awards. The Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer beat Tom Cruise’s Top Gun to bag the Best Action film award. It also won the Best International Feature, Best Original song and Best Stunts trophies for the action drama.

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli and actor Ram Charan were present at the prestigious event The filmmaker’s acceptance speech at the event is winning hearts.

SS Rajamouli was seen walking up to the stage to receive the award for Best Action Film and Best Stunts for RRR. His moving speech while receiving the awards is viral on the internet. Rajamouli also dedicated his award to all his fellow filmmakers in India.

In his speech after the Best Action Film win, SS Rajamouli said, “I think I need to go backstage and check…I think I’ll be starting growing wings already…with the second one! Thank you so much it means a lot! I can’t express in words how much it means…“

RRR star Ram Charan has become the first ever Indian actor to present the Hollywood Critics Association Awards. The actor joined Hollywood stars, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and McKenna Grace.

Earlier RRR bagged two Critics Choice Awards and also a Golden Globe Award. Their popular dance number Naatu Naatu is also nominated for the Oscars. The movie is set to be re-released in the USA ahead of the Oscars. It will release in over 200 theatres there on March 3. The Academy Awards will take place on March 13.

RRR is all about Komaram Bheem, and Alluri Sita Rama Raju played by Jr NTR and Ram Charan and how they fight against British oppression. The period drama also features Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Makarand Deshpande, and Olivia Morris, among others.
