RRR: Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer magnum opus to be remade in Korean? Deets here

SS Rajmouli’s period drama RRR which released on March 25, emerged as a massive hit at the box office. The film collected Rs. 1111.7 crore at the box office worldwide. The movie featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR received rave reviews from most critics. It went on to be a global sensation and received praises internationally from Hollywood filmmakers too.

Reportedly the makers have now been approached by Korean filmmakers for its Korean version. If reports do come true then we may soon see a Korean version of RRR.

As per the report of India Today, RRR may soon be remade in Korean, according to producer Sunitha, who is pitching Sakhini-Dakhini. The comedy-drama Sakhini-Dakhini is an official remake of the Korean film Midnight Runners.

As per her statement quoted by India Today “If all the world is behind Korean films, Koreans are behind ‘RRR’”.
She also revealed that there was a huge offer from Korean makers for remake rights. Sunitha stated that when they told about it to SS Rajamouli, he had an interesting reaction. However, she didn’t give any details about how and what the filmmaker actually said.

RRR is a period drama that features Jr NTR and Ram Charan as the tribal leader Komaram Bheem, and the revolutionary Alluri Sitarama Raju, respectively. The fictional saga celebrates their fight against the British empire. The SS Rajamouli directorial also features Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn,Samuthirakani, Shriya Saran, Ray Stevenson, Makarand Deshpande, and Olivia Morris, among others.

RRR is  said to be one of the tough contenders as India’s official entry to Oscars 2023.
