We know that it’s not easy for our B-Townies to remember names from an industry that they are less familiar with. But when you’re an Ambassador for a particular line of sport, the least you could do is remember the name of the player.
Actor Salman Khan didn’t take this seriously and at a recent trailer launch of ‘Freaky Ali’, Salman Khan forgot the name of Dipa Karmakar, the first Indian woman gymnast who qualified for the Rio Olympics. Salman is the ‘Goodwill Ambassador – Indian Contingent’ of the event, and to forget the name of the gymnast who has reached the finals is indeed a shame. This didn’t go down well with Dipa’s near and dear ones, and all sports lovers.
Earlier this year,Salman Khan was appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador of the Rio Olympics and this decision by the authority received a lot of backlash and legendary athlete Milkha Singh too strongly objected to this decision. At the time, Salman’s father Salim Khan stood by his son and said that Salman has been a weight lifter, A-level swimmer and cyclist.
