Salman Khan begins shoot for Chiranjeevi starrer Godfather

Telugu Megastar Chiranjeevi is doing a Telugu remake of the Malayalam super hit film ‘Lucifer’. The Telugu version is being directed by Mohan Raja. Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan and Chiranjeevi will be collaborating for the upcoming release. The Dabangg Khan is reportedly playing a crucial cameo in the movie.

As per recent updates, Salman Khan on Monday has commenced shooting for the film in ND Studios in Karjat, near Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Godfather is an official adaptation of the Mohanlal-starring Malayalam political thriller Lucifer. The film shows Chiru as a powerful politician. Nayanthara will play his sister. Salman Khan will reportedly be stepping into the shoes of Prithviraj Sukumaran.

As reported by sources to Indian Express, “The team is currently filming important sequences in the combination of Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan in a specially erected set at ND Studios, Karjat, Mumbai. This schedule will continue for a little over a week. The makers are also planning to rope in pop singer Britney Spears in a special song. In all likelihood, she will be shaking a leg with Salman in the film.”

Sources added that the makers will also shoot a song with Salman Khan and Chiranjeevi.

Produced by Konidela Production Company in association with Super Good Films, Godfather has music by S Thaman. The film is expected to hit the screens in the second half of this year.

Godfather also features, Nayanthara, Satyadev Kancharana, Harish Uthaman, Sachin Khedekar, Nassar in pivotal roles. The movie is being made with a whopping budget of Rs 260 Crores.
