Samantha Ruth Prabhu insists she isn’t ‘missing’ working as she opens up on acting break

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is currently on a break from acting. The break came as a result of her diagnosis with myositis last year. It had made the actress physically weaker. After completing her shoot for Citadel India in July this year, Samantha started her break to focus on her recovery.

The actress has been making the most of her time during this break by travelling. She is going to different destinations in India as well as abroad. Recently, she had an interactive session with her fans on Instagram. There, a fan asked her about her next travel destination. Answering that, the actress also opened up on what made her take the break.

Sharing that her next destination is Austria, Samantha said, “The whole of last year, I couldn’t do much honestly. And I promised myself that when I start to feel better, I would take a break and travel, see all of the places that are on my wish list. And I can’t believe I am actually following up on that promise to myself because sometimes when you start to feel better, you immediately want to get back in the race.”

She further called acting an ‘addiction’ and insisted that she isn’t missing it yet. The actress shared, “I think that acting is quite an addiction, a good addiction but an addiction never the less. And I think that I am doing the right thing by taking the break and actually having a great time. Not missing it as yet.”

Samantha’ battle with myositis

It was in October 2022 that Samantha shared with the world that she is battling an autoimmune disease, myositis. The disease makes the immune system attack the muscles, resulting in physical weakness. However, the actress still continued to work and completed the action-packed show Citadel India with Varun Dhawan. It was after wrapping up that shoot that Samantha took a break. Post the break, she also had the release of Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda.
