Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the most loved actresses in the industry. Samantha is currently busy promoting her upcoming film, Shaakuntalam. Samantha attended the launch event of her upcoming film Shaakuntalam’s third trailer on Thusrday. The actress was clicked by the paps.

Samantha struggles to open her eyes

In the video shared by paparazzo on Instagram, Samantha is seen struggling to open her eyes as the flashlight of the photographers’ cameras hurt her eyes. A member of her team can also be seen asking paps to switch off the flashlights. Samantha can be heard apologizing to paps for not being able to pose for them. For the uninitiated, Samantha has been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis.

Reacting to the post, a fan dropped a comment saying, “She has a problem in her eyes those flashes are hurting her eyes.” Another fan commented, “She has Myositis… Autoimmune disease… light affects her eyes.” Some fans bashed paps for their behaviour. A fan commented, “Paps should understand her condition & off their flashes.” Another one wrote, “Really sad. Flashes should be turned off.”

In a recent exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Samantha opened up about her battle with Myositis. The actress told us, “One day I was puffy, one day I was sick, one day I have no control over my look. So, this was a final shackle to be broken as an actor. You know, your eyes, the medium to express emotions and everyday I wake up with pins and needles in my eyes. Everyday I go through this pain.”

Samantha added, “I am sensitive to light and I can’t which is why you know I don’t wear glasses just for fun and for style. The light actually affects my eyes. I have intense migraine, I have intense pain in my eyes and they swell from the pain and this is every single day for the last eight months. This is probably the worst thing that can happen to the actor because eyes are the medium through which you can express.”

Talking about her upcoming project Shaakuntalam, it also stars Dev Mohan, Sachin Khedekar, Mohan Babu, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Prakash Raj, Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha, and Menaka. It is slated to release on 14^th April.
