Not Tara Sutaria, but this actress to star opposite Shahid in ‘Arjun Reddy’ remake

Superstar Shahid Kapoor’s much talked film ‘Arjun Reddy‘ has a new member on board now. The makers have officially announced that Kiara Advani has been roped in for the upcoming release.  Kiara, who was most recently seen in Netflix’s ‘Lust Stories’, will essay the role of Shahid’s love interest in the remake of the Telegu blockbuster.

It was earlier reported that Tara Sutaria has been signed up for the Hindi remake of ‘Arjun Reddy’ opposite Shahid Kapoor. However, the actress had to exit from the film due to her commitments to her debut film ‘Student of the Year 2’.

As per a DNA report, Tara’s debut film ‘SOTY 2’ was set to release on 23 November, but due to its extensive shooting, the release date was pushed ahead to May 10, 2019. As Tara is yet to wrap up the shoot of her debut film, she had to opt out from ‘Arjun Reddy’.

Recently Kiara confirmed the news and said, “’Arjun Reddy’ has always been one of my favourite films. There are so many shades to the heroine’s character; I’m very excited about it.”

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who also helmed the original critically-acclaimed Telugu-language blockbuster, the remake will go on floors next month.

The original film, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead, revolved around a medical student who falls in love with his junior and how their relationship evolves. The remake will be produced by T-Series and Cine1 Studios.

Shahid Kapoor, who was recently seen in ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, will now start work on ‘Arjun Reddy’ alongside his co-star Kiara Advani.
