Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra will be seen in the remake of ‘Ittefaq’, a film that was made by legendary filmmaker BR Chopra. The filmmaker’s grandson, Abhay Chopra had always wished to remake the film and looks like his wish is finally getting a form.
Abhay has apparently enrolled Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha for the lead roles that were played by superstar Rajesh Khanna and yesteryear actress Nanda in the original. The remake is being produced by Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Kapil Chopra.
Sources say, “The film is currently in prep, the reading session with the actors will begin soon and the film will go on the floors by the year end. Abhay has been working on the script for a while now. They have changed the climax because otherwise the cat would be out of the bag before the first scene is canned and contemporarised the story.”
The Yash Chopra-directed 1969 murder mystery featured Rajesh Khanna, Nanda and Sujit Kumar. The makers are yet to rope in the actor to fit into the shoes of ‘Inspector’ Sujit.
