Actor Sanjay Dutts hope of getting reprieve from Mumbai Blast Case were dashed as Supreme Court dismissed his plea seeking review on his conviction ,a bench of justices P Sathasivam and BS Chauhan refused to review its verdict on Dutt and six others convicts plea-Yusuf Mohsin Nulwalla, Khalil Ahmed Sayed Ali Nazir, Mohamed Dawood Yusuf Khan, Shaikh Asif Yusuf, Muzammil Umar Kadri and Mohd Ahmed Shaikh.
Sanjay Dutt who has been convicted for illegal possession of weapons during the Mumbai Blast by the Supreme Court to five years of jail term,ruling out his release on probation saying the “nature” of his offence was “serious”.Dutt, who was granted four weeks more time to surrender to undergo remaining three-and-a-half-year jail term, will have to surrender before jail authorities on May 16.
With the dismissal of Sanju’s plea, he has got only one option left of getting relief this is by filing a curative petition,With today’s order, now Sanjay Dutt can file curative petition under article 142 of the Constitution and finally mercy petition before the President of India.
