Suriya 40 titled Etharkkum Thunindhavan: The superstar looks fierce and feisty in the first look promo video

The makers of Suriya’s 40th film, tentatively titled, Suriya 40 have released its first look poster ahead of Suriya’s birthday i.e on July 23. It is now titled Etharkkum Thunindhavan. Since morning #Suriya40FirstLook, #Suriya40FLday, and #HappyBirthdaySuriya have been trending on Twitter and now as the first look is out, fans are going gaga.

On July 19, Sun Pictures made an announcement on Twitter saying that they will release the first look of Suriya 40 on July 22 at 6 pm. In the 14-second video, we could see a silhouette of Suriya’s character holding a long chain. The background music left us intrigued. Suriya 40 went on floors in February this year. The film is said to be a total package of romance, action, and emotions.

Sharing the first look promo video, Suriya wrote, “Dear all here is the first look of #EtharkkumThunindhavan”. In the video, we see Suriya in a never-seen-before avatar He is seen holding a sword in one hand and a gun in another. Then he fires and then drags a dead body and towards the end of the video, we see his face smeared with bloodstains. And as we have mentioned earlier, the background music is just awesome.

Suriya 40 is backed by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures and is directed by Pandiraj. This is the third time Suriya and Pandiraj are collaborating after Pasanga 2 and Kadaikutty Singham. Apart from Suriya, the movie also features Priyanka Arul Mohan, Saranya Ponvannan, Sathyaraj, Cibi and Jaya Prakash in key roles. The film’s music is composed by D Imman, while cinematographer Rathnavelu is the director of photography.

Apart from Etharkkum Thunindhavan, Suriya will also be seen in Netflix’s Tamil anthology web series Navarasa created by Mani Ratnam. The teaser released on July 9. Navarasa stars some of the stellar cast like Vijay Sethupathi, Aditi Balan Siddharth Parvathy Thiruvothu, Prakash Raj, and Revathi among others. It will release on Netflix on August 6.

Suriya will also star in Vaadi Vaasal. The title-look poster was dropped recently. Directed by Vetri Maaran, the film is backed by Kalaipuli S Thanu’s V Creations. Suriya also has Gnanavel’s film that is tentatively titled #Suriya39.
