Suriya starrer Jai Bhim officially enters the Golden Globe Awards 2022

It is time for celebration for all the Suriya fans as his recently released film Jai Bhim has officially entered the Golden Globe Awards 2022. The film has bagged a nomination under the category of ‘Best Non-English Language Film’. According to a report in Times Of India, the movie also surpassed the record hit of IMDb rating of The Shawshank Redemption and The Godfather and it has now been rated at 9.6 on the portal. Well, actually this calls for a double celebration. Suriya got immense love from his fans for his film Jai Bhim; however, the film got embroiled in controversies post its release.

Reportedly, Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) alleged that certain scenes in the film tarnished the image of the Vanniyar community. The community even sent a legal notice to Suriya, Jyotika, TJ Gnanavel and Amazon Prime Video for defaming them. Despite the controversies, the film has managed to enter the Golden Globe Awards 2022 which is as huge and prestigious as the Oscars.

Earlier, after the film was released and getting utmost appreciation from the fans and critics, Suriya took to his Twitter handle and penned a heart-touching note while thanking his fans for showering with love. He is overwhelmed to see the response from them as he wrote, “Dear all, this love for #Jaibhim is overwhelming. I’ve never witnessed this before! Can’t express in words how thankful I am for the trust & reassurance you all have given us. Heartfelt thanks for standing by us“

The intense drama Jai Bhim was released on Amazon Prime on November 2.
